Medicare has imposed - Established Clinical Relationship - Thus patients must have attended an in-person consultation with their practitioner, or another practitioner within the same practice, within the 12 months prior to claiming a telehealth consultation.
This is the standard established clinical relationship requirement for GP, NP and specialist telehealth consultations. Exclusions to this include:
Mel ultimately decides if her consults meet any exclusion criteria, however given many patients see her for her women's health expertise, we are confident many patients will continue being eligible for some Medicare rebate. We also have access to www.telecheck.com.au that will search disaster zone eligibility, and many in the southern Victoria region are currently in a declared disaster zone.
